When a sex toy company reaches out, I never know what to expect. Most are great, and I have worked with lots of cool brands. Others are less aligned with the VF vision, too poorly made, or not sex positive enough for consideration. But when an email from Freely landed in my inbox I was intrigued. I had never heard of Freely, but within moments of reading about them and the design options they offer, I was hooked. Immediately I knew that I wanted to give it a whirl and design my own dildo, and let me tell you: I had so much fun doing it!
I Designed My Own Dildo and It Was Super Easy
The idea of a totally custom toy with just a few clicks seems totally wild, so I was very keen to see if the results were worth the hype. I designed my own dildo by starting with Freely’s pre-designed Neptune dildo, one of four Flagship Designs, including Aether, Ember, and Fonda. I chose the Neptune as my starting point because it already had some features I was looking for: girth, a defined but subtle head, and a big ol’ fat knot near the base.
Had I wanted to, I could have started with any of the over 40 designs. Every shape can be re-designed into any other shape, and the precision is lovely. If you want smooth ripples, you can have them. Fancy some really clean angles instead? Easy! And don’t get me started on fun, novelty shapes …
Why Freely Is So Cool
This brand is, if nothing else, aptly named. You can, in a matter of minutes, freely design, and then order, the dildo of your dreams. The design tool is very cool and works in real time with both a 3D rendering and a topographic grid that shows a cross section of the design so you can get every bump and ridge just to your liking. That’s ultimately what it’s all about: freedom of choice and expression, designing a pleasure product that suits your body, your needs, and your fantasies.
Their Colours Are Gorgeous
I was very pleased and impressed by the colours available for any dildo you design: 10 Matte, 10 Shimmering, and 6 Marbled options. The hardest part about the whole process was choosing a colour! Ultimately I went with Twilight Forest. It’s from the Shimmering colour palette and it’s a beautiful deep jade green with feathery swirls of shimmer, which led to me naming my dildo The Forest King. The breadth of colour Freely offers is solid, with some unexpected shades. You are not limited to pink and purple or “flesh” tones with Freely. Instead, you can fill out your sex toy collection with colours like Canary, Merlot, Smooth Coffee, or Lazy Sky.
The Quality Is Immaculate
Freely uses quality, body safe silicone for all of their dildos and plugs. The surface is perfectly smooth, and you can customize the size, shape, type of base, size of base, curvature, and hardness, allowing you to get the perfect toy, just the way you want it. Mine even came with a note that explained that there was extra silicone from the pour of my dildo so they made me a small matching butt plug!
